In Moldova Republic the celebrations on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Pylyp Orlyk Constitution are continued. Today, in Bandery town the Ukrainian delegation headed by M. Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine took part in the opening of the memorial sign in the honour of 300th anniversary of Pylyp Orlyk Constitution. In the opening took part I. Smyrnov, Transnistria Leader, M. Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, S. Pyrozhkov, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Moldova Republic and other. The Ukrainian delegation also took part in the International Scientific-Practical Conference "Role and Significance of P. Orlyk Constitution in the Formation of Democratic Institutions in Eastern Europe." Then Mykola Tomenko and Ukrainian delegation took part in the "round table" discussion in Chisinau city.

 

In the course of the "round table" M. Tomenko stated: "the modern Constitutional discussion in Ukraine and Moldova Republic should take into the consideration the Constitutional experience and achievements that were made on the territory of Moldova Republic in Bendery town by the representatives of the Ukrainian elite 300 hundred years ago."

 

As the answer to the constructive criticism of the Moldova high-ranking authorities regarding the fact why the first Ukrainian Constitution is more honoured by the Moldova republic authority, M. Tomenko expressed hope that "the example shown by the state men, politicians and scientists of Moldova Republic is supposed to make the Ukrainian authorities to be more active in the part of the celebration and honoring of 300th anniversary of Pylyp Orlyk Constitution."
